Manchester United have lined up a midfielder for if Paul Pogba leaves this summer, while Lionel Messi has told Barcelona to sign a Juventus star, according to Sunday’s European papers.
MAN UTD LINE UP POGBA REPLACEMENT
Manchester United will go all out to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic should Paul Pogba leave Old Trafford this summer, a report claims.Pogba only joined United in 2016 in a then world-record deal, but has struggled to settle in during his second spell with the Red Devils amid reports of a turbulent relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.
Tuttosport recently claimed that Juventus will launch a €100m (£87.8m) move to bring the Frenchman back to Turin.
Should Pogba leave, French outlet RMC Sport claim that Mourinho will launch a move for midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is reportedly valued at €100million.
The report quotes Italian football agent Marco Materazzi, who claims the deal is basically already done: “In my opinion, he [Milinkovic-Savic] has already been sold for a few months to a team, Manchester United, which is waiting to sell a big name, Pogba, to formalise the Serbian’s arrival.”
Lazio’s final-day capitulation at home to Inter Milan, which cost them a Champions League place, could have swung the pendulum firmly in United’s favour.
